Atlantic storm passes over France

Well it was batten down the hatches and hope for the best when during the night on Thursday we were woken to the sound of terrific winds battering the house. Friday morning it was still the same the wind was so strong we were just hoping that the roof would stay on!!
Our shutters were ripped open despite being secured. Our neighbour Marie Claire even had her kitchen window blown open inspite of it being covered by a shutter !!
Anyway everything seemed to calm down by Friday afternoon when the winds subsided. We were very lucky and had only 2 tiles torn from the roof, looking at the news from the South West of France they were not so lucky with 1 million people being without electricity and roofs being torn off and cars being demolished under fallen trees etc. The storm is now heading towards Spain.
